about us
ArtistShare connects artists with their audiences to share the excitement and beauty of the creative process, document the work of today’s most compelling creators and allow supporters to participate directly in the creation of new artistic works. ArtistShare represents creative freedom for artists and meaningful participation for those who support them.
Founded in 2001, ArtistShare is widely recognized for creating the first crowdfunding platform and pioneering new audience-supported models. Today, ArtistShare provides a trusted platform along with award-winning label, distribution, and rights administration services for entrepreneurial artists.
Since 2003, ArtistShare projects have received numerous honors, including over 30 Grammy nominations and 15 Grammy Award wins.
Our artist roster includes many of today’s most distinguished artists, including Pulitzer and Oscar-nominated writers, Guggenheim Fellows, Doris Duke Artist Award recipients, Grammy winners and NEA Jazz Masters.
ArtistShare’s unique approach to documenting the creative process, combined with the opportunity for audiences to follow and sometimes participate in that process, helps preserve the relationship between artists and audiences regardless of changes in technology or the industry. Artists retain ownership and control of their work through a transparent artist-centered model that remains central to our mission.
ArtistShare is a strong supporter and advocate of artists’ intellectual property rights.
