This n’ That is a straight-ahead swing chart that was originally published by Kendor Music in 1991. Though it has been out of print for a while, we are happy we are now able to re-release it here.  It has solo space for alto and muted trumpet. But you could feature anyone. I admit to loving this piece! It is relaxed and swinging if I do say so myself - easy, but not simple sounding. I try to make these easier pieces musically attractive to even inexperienced adult groups.

For all these easy-band pieces, the instrumentation is typical big band (5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 4 rhythm) but all charts can be played with as few as 3 saxes (alto, alto, tenor), 2 trumpets, 1 trombone.  All rhythm parts are completely written out, but also have chord changes, so your rhythm section can try coming up with their own fills and comping.  The improvised solos are also written out with chord changes, so beginning improvisers may rely on the written lines provided or they may give their own improvised solo a try.
