Q&A was commissioned by Sigi Feigl and Jazz Big Band Graz in 2000 and is the title track from their recording featuring Bob, and his long-time drummer, John Hollenbeck. This recording has been out of print for a long time, which has sadly caused these compositions (including Q&A) to be overlooked in Bob’s complete oeuvre. However, they are incredible examples of Bob’s late 90s/early-2000 writing and we are thrilled to make the score & parts/study score available so bands can finally add this incredible music to their repertoire.

Q&A is a medium-up piece with solo space for Soprano (Reed 4) with plenty of interaction between the soloist/band and drums, creating a great showcase for them as well.

While it is always encouraged to perform Bob’s music in its original form, there is an alternate Reed 2 part included incase you need to move the solo around to feature one of your Reed 1 or 2 players, and Bob indicated Trumpet 5 as optional.
